Monday, January 13, 2014 - 2013 Sales up 8% Local Housing Market!

Edmonton, January 6, 2014: Sales of residential property through the Edmonton Multiple Listing Service (MLS) system in 2013 in the Edmonton CMA were almost eight percent higher than in 2012. From 2011 to 2012 the number of sales increased 6.2 %. There were 17,055 residential sales reported in 2013 as compared to just 15,812 in 2012. The City of Leduc is growing by leaps and bounds these days. The latest census data from the Edmonton - Area suburb show Leduc grew by 6.9 % from 2012 - 2013, hitting a population of 27,241. Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees in Alberta were $1,085.89, the highest of any province in November, according to Statistics Canada.
